Activities and Groups

About

Our aim is to reduce social isolation and help individuals, of any age with any disability or special educational need, to build confidence, learn new skills and form lasting relationships in a safe environment. We do this through our wide range of engaging activities for children and adults with disabilities/special educational needs, held primarily at our activity unit in Princes Quay, Hull but also in other community settings throughout Hull and East Riding.

We support people to overcome barriers which may otherwise prevent them from experiencing the activities.

We also provide training, advice and support for parents and carers.

We have a heavily subsidised shop with sensory equipment and toys plus a sensory room which is open to all at Princes Quay Shopping Centre.

We also have a specialist equipment lending library allowing our services users to try out more expensive pieces of equipment before they purchase it themselves.

(People need to become a member to join in activities. Membership is free for anyone with a disability/special educational need or parent/carer. Sign up on the website: https://specialstarsfoundation.co.uk/pages/join)
