Hull Musical Theatre Company

Hull Musical Theatre Company (HMTC) is one of the longest-standing community arts organisations in Hull and East Yorkshire, having created high-quality, inclusive and community-led musical theatre productions since 1897.

Our mission is to produce memorable, accessible and people-focused musical theatre experiences while providing meaningful creative opportunities that improve the health, wellbeing and skills of our members, volunteers and audiences. We exist as much for our participants as for our performances, using musical theatre as a tool for connection, growth, confidence and joy.

HMTC is proud to be a home for community, creativity and belonging. Our objectives are:

1. To advance the art of Musical Theatre for the benefit of the general public through inclusive, member-led productions.

2. To provide accessible creative opportunities that support good mental and physical wellbeing for people of all ages and backgrounds.

3. To develop skills, confidence and employability through volunteering and participation in the performing arts.

4. To nurture a community where disabled people, LGBTQIA+ people, parents/carers, and those facing barriers to access can thrive.

We are committed to keeping participation affordable and accessible, offering reduced fees for those on low incomes.

We continue to warmly welcome new members all year around, no matter their background, skills or confidence levels - so get involved, whether that's onstage or off!
