Hull City Council - Lifeline
Help At Home
About
Kingston Care lifeline service is run by Hull City Council and is available to -
- Council tenants
- Housing Association tenants
- Private tenants
- Homeowners
This service is available to anyone, of any age who would like to feel safer and more confident at home for example:
- older, or disabled people
- people who have been discharged from hospital
- people at risk of domestic abuse
- people living with medical conditions who need peace of mind
- people living with dementia in the community
Anyone requiring a Lifeline will receive:
- a Lifeline unit
- smoke alarm and/or heat head
- pendant to wear when they are at home
The Lifeline service provides you with access to a dedicated team of trained call handlers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In the event of an emergency at home simply press the button on the pendant or the unit. This will connect you to Hull’s Kingston Care Control Centre. The call handler will assess the situation and take the most appropriate action to help you. If the heat head or smoke alarm is activated, an automatic alert will be sent. So help can be activated without a need to press the button.
The weekly cost of the lifeline service is £4.85 (depending on customers personal circumstances VAT may have to be paid at 20% which would make the weekly charge £5.82). There are no installation or additional maintenance charges.
To apply for a lifeline, contact 01482 614 300 or email sheltered.housing@hullcc.gov.uk and we will take a referral.
