About

BAMEEN's mission is to improve the quality of life for Black and Ethnic Minority Communities by generating supplementary livelihood through a programme of scheduled activities to engage BME communities in particular at grassroots level through listening, sharing and ultimately bringing them together to find solutions to Recycling and waste, energy-saving, local food production and climate change matters. We further develop and deliver environmental education-interpretation training programmes to BME groups and centres in Hull and East riding of Yorkshire. BAMEEN develops links and opportunities and have delivered the following: - environmental champions- urban food growing project that focusses upon Black and migrant groups and trials indigenous/home growing techniques- urban agriculture training programme- diabetes education programme - Youth waste and recycling projects (Congolese, Gambian, Afghan and Iraq collaboration)- Energy saving network in collaboration with local authority's Dept of energy and climate change (Hull DECC).
